SVUSD APP

Please make sure to download the SVUSD app. You’ll be able to connect with your student’s teacher(s) like messaging, you can get updates through streams and announcements, and even be connected to missing assignments. I also use it to send out messages and announcements to keep everyone updated on the happenings at BV. Here is the QR to directly access the app for either Apple or Android phone.

Sincerely,

From the Grade Levels...

4th Grade

Math: In the first three modules of HMH Into Math Grade 4, your child will explore place value, number patterns, and strategies for adding and subtracting large numbers. These lessons help develop problem-solving skills, ensuring a deep understanding of math concepts that build confidence for future success.

Science: In McGraw-Hill’s 4th grade science curriculum, your child will study earthquakes, learning about tectonic plates, how earthquakes form, and their impact on Earth. Through hands-on activities, students will also focus on safety and preparedness, sparking curiosity about the planet's dynamic forces.

ELA: In Wonders 4th Grade Unit 1, your child will read a variety of texts, from stories to informational articles, focusing on understanding main ideas and details. Activities will strengthen vocabulary, comprehension, and writing skills, encouraging a love for reading and clear expression of ideas.

Social Studies: Our class is learning about the early peoples of North America! Students are exploring how Indigenous communities lived, traveled, and adapted to their environments across different regions. It's a great way to build understanding of America's history and diverse culture

PBIS

This year we are starting something new - Behavior Academies. Students who get multiple minor referrals will be admitted into a behavior academy - Behavior Reflection Academy, Social Skills Academy, Emotional Regulation Academy, Bullying Prevention Academy or Safe Hands Academy, where they will the skills they need to be successful in the school setting. We are trying to be proactive with behavior to stop the little behaviors from turning into big behaviors.
