How to get kids excited about reading

  1. Find books that are interesting to the reader

  2. Go to the library

  3. Make characters come to life with hands-on activities

  4. Commit to special reading times

  5. Start a book/movie challenge (read the book then watch the movie)

  6. Let your child/children see you read

  7. Read a series--get excited of what might come next

  8. Audiobooks are great while having the book in hand

  9. Put the captions on while watching TV

Olweus Bullying Prevention Program

The definition of bullying according to our new program is when someone repeatedly and on purpose says or does mean or hurtful things to another person who has a hard time defending himself or herself. Bullying has 3 components:

  • It is aggressive behavior.

  • It involves an imbalance of power.

  • It is usually repeated over time.
