A Message from Interim Superintendent Terri Romo |
I’m incredibly proud to share the 2024–2025 state letter grades for our Sierra Vista Unified School District schools. This year, Huachuca Mountain Elementary and Town & Country Elementary not only maintained their A ratings, but also earned the two highest overall scores in all of Cochise County! Their continued excellence is a true reflection of the dedication of our teachers, staff, students, and families who work together every day to achieve success.
Across the district, we continue to see growth and progress. Buena High School maintained its solid B rating, and Joyce Clark Middle School made significant gains, improving from a D to a C. Carmichael, Pueblo Del Sol, and Village Meadows earned strong B ratings, and we’re already working closely with Bella Vista Elementary to support their continued improvement. The road to excellence isn’t always easy, but I’m proud of how our district continues to move forward with perseverance, collaboration, and heart. We will keep working diligently to ensure every student receives the best possible education—because there are truly amazing things happening in our schools every day.

As we prepare to take time off from school from November 24–28 for the Thanksgiving break, we want to share our gratitude for everyone in our school community. Your partnership makes it possible for students to come to school every day, on time, and ready to learn. Every day of school is an important opportunity for students to connect with peers and teachers and to grow personally, socially, and academically. Consistent attendance builds good habits, keeps students on track, and ensures they don’t miss out on important learning moments. We are thankful for:
• Our students and their families who show up to school regularly, even when it isn’t easy. • Our staff who go above and beyond to create a welcoming, safe, and engaging learning environment. • Our support staff and volunteers who provide the extra help and care our students need.
We appreciate each one of you. If your family or your child needs support with attendance, please reach out to your school's front office. We are grateful for everyone’s efforts to avoid taking extra days off during this holiday season. We look forward to seeing you again when school resumes on Monday, December 1.
Thank you for partnering with us to support your child’s success! |

Wolf Pack Shines Bright for Alaura |
|
|
Earlier this month, our Wolf Pack came together in a colorful show of love and support for Alaura, a second grade student at Village Meadows who is bravely battling brain cancer. Each grade level dressed in a different color to create a schoolwide rainbow—Alaura’s favorite. Students and staff gathered in the MPR to record a heartfelt video message for Alaura, reminding her that she is never alone in her fight. Together, we proudly cheered:
“Strong like a wolf!” “Our colors shine bright!” “We believe in you!” The event was a powerful reminder of the strength and compassion within our Wolf Pack community. Thank you to everyone who participated and helped make this moment so meaningful for Alaura and her family.

Carmichael Elementary honored Corporal Philip D. McGeath, U.S. Marine Corps, with a rededication of the school’s Rose Memorial. The newly restored memorial was completed by Eagle Scout Ayden, with participation from Buena High School’s JROTC. A beautiful tribute to service, community, and remembrance. |
