Roadrunners are safe, respectful, and responsible!

Dear T&C Families,

We are excited to share some amazing updates from our campus as we wrap up a strong and successful September! Your partnership and support have helped make this a fantastic start to the school year, and we want to keep you informed about all the great things happening at T&C.

🌟 Positive Behavior Support at 80% and Climbing!

We’re proud to share that our staff has reached 80% implementation of PBIS (Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports) not once, but twice in September! This means our students are consistently being supported through positive behavior systems, clear expectations, and a safe, welcoming school environment. We are committed to continuing this work to ensure every student thrives both academically and socially.

🎯 High-Quality Teaching in Every Classroom

Our first instructional Learning Walk of the year was a big success! This is when our leadership team visits classrooms to observe and celebrate effective teaching practices. Here are a few highlights from the data we gathered:

  • Setting Clear Learning Objectives: 92%

  • Reinforcing Effort and Recognition: 90%

  • Checking for Understanding: 90%

  • Gradual Release of Responsibility: 92%

  • PBIS Practices: 100%

  • Overall Instructional Score: 87%

These numbers reflect the passion, professionalism, and hard work your children experience every day from our incredible teachers and staff.

🏅 A+ School Application – On the Way!

We are thrilled to announce that our A+ School of Excellence application has been submitted, and we have an official visit scheduled for January! This recognition celebrates schools that go above and beyond in creating a high-achieving, supportive, and inclusive learning environment. We are confident that T&C is well on its way to being named an A+ School—and we couldn’t do it without the amazing students and families who make our community so special.

📚 “Classrooms in Motion” Book Study

This year, we launched a campus-wide professional learning initiative called “Classrooms in Motion” with the theme “Centers Under Construction.” Teachers are diving into new strategies for engaging students in meaningful learning centers, supported by visual tools and accountability systems. You may notice increased use of KAGAN structures—these help build classroom community and boost student collaboration.

🔍 Learning from One Another

We’ve also started our first round of internal classroom walks, where teachers visit and learn from one another. This fosters a strong culture of professional growth and collaboration across grade levels.

🛠️ Workshop Wednesdays Kick-Off!

Our 5th and 6th-grade teams led the way in launching Workshop Wednesdays, starting with a great session on building effective ELA centers. This teacher-led learning ensures we are continuously growing and improving instructional strategies that benefit all students.

We are so proud of the work happening across our campus and thankful for the support of our parent community. Thank you for being an essential part of the T&C family. Together, we’re building something truly special!
